Stewart will be ready for international service in November

STEWART AIRPORT – Stewart Airport has begun to remodel the passenger terminal to make way for international flights, which it hopes to have by fall. The work should be done by early November, Airport Manager Diannae Ehler told the Stewart Airport Commission Tuesday.

The baggage pickup area of the terminal is going to have a movable wall that will segregate incoming passengers on international flights.

Ehler said they are working on getting the new flights.

“We are actively in discussions with tour operators and charter companies about international service; no announcements yet, unfortunately,” she said.

Officials are hoping to capitalize on holiday vacation travelers initially.
