Pedestrian killed on Long Island

COPIAGUE – Police are investigating the death of a man who was struck while walking across a street in Copiague, just before noon Tuesday.  Volodymyr Pylyp, 44, of Copiague was dead on arrival at a local hospital.

Pylyp was hit by a southbound van, on Great Neck Road.

Police have identified the driver of the van, but at last report, no charges had been filed.  The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 631-854-8352
